China: The Israeli occupation entity must stop its aggression against Gaza Strip

China renewed its demand that the Israeli occupation entity must stop its ongoing barbaric aggression against Gaza Strip, calling on the Security Council to take action to achieve this goal.

Xinhua Agency quoted China’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Geng Shuang, as saying yesterday: ” China is deeply concerned about the repeated Israeli bombing of Gaza Strip in recent days, and it urges Israel to immediately stop the aggression and abandon its plans to attack Rafah”. He called on the countries supporting the Israeli entity to play a neutral role and contribute to ceasefire.

Chuang pointed to the spread of hunger and famine in Gaza Strip, the collapse of its health care system, the loss of innocent lives, and the desperate struggle of millions of people who are on the brink of death, stressing that there is no justification for prolonging the war and continuing to kill civilians.

Chuang stated that Security Council resolutions and International Court of Justice orders on interim measures all explicitly call for increasing humanitarian aid access to the Strip, but they have never been implemented, and if this continues, it will lead to more civilian deaths due to famine and diseases.

He stressed that the responsibility for ensuring that humanitarian agencies deliver aid lies with the occupying authority, considering that hunger cannot be used as a weapon and that relief aid cannot be politicized.

Chuang stressed that the accusations made by the Israeli occupation authorities against the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) are not based on any evidence. He called on all countries to resume funding this organization as soon as possible and to refrain from using any pretext to impose additional collective punishment on the residents of Gaza.
