China: Syria’s participation in the Arab summit proves the ability of Arab countries to shape their own future

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that Syria’s participation in the Arab Summit in Jeddah demonstrates the ability of Arab States to decide their own destiny and future, noting that strengthening Arab solidarity and cooperation meets the aspirations of peoples.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a press conference today: “we are pleased to see reconciliation in the Arab world, which has added a new impression to the countries of the region, and brought hope to their peoples.”

Ning added: “China congratulates President Bashar Al-Assad on attending the Arab Summit and rejoining the large Arab family.

Syria’s return to the Arab League fully shows that strengthening solidarity and cooperation through dialogue and consultation is the aspirations of the peoples and the trend of the times, and also fully proves that the Arab countries are able to decide their fate and future.

Ning noted that Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on the occasion of the summit, stressing that China will implement, in the spirit of friendship, the outcomes of the Sino-Arab summit and will work to build a higher level of Sino-Arab strategic partnership.

” As a sincere friend of the Arab world, China will continue to support Arab countries in strengthening their strategic independence and unity, playing a greater role in regional and international affairs and promoting peace, stability and development, “Ning said.
