China renews its call to stop the Israeli aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip

China renewed its call to stop the Israeli aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip, affirming its  support for reaching a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian issue.

In a press briefing carried by AFP, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin called for “an end to the collective punishment committed by Israel against the Palestinian people,” noting that his country “has always stood by justice and international law regarding the Palestinian issue.”

Referring to the request of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Ahmed Khan, to issue an arrest warrant against the Prime Minister of the Israeli occupation entity, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his Minister of War, Yoav Galant, for committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip, Wang expressed China’s hope that “the court will maintain its objective and impartial position and exercises its powers in accordance with the law.”

Moreover, China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Fu Zong, called for an immediate halt to the Israeli aggression against the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip.

He said in a Security Council session that “Israel”, which faces strong opposition from the international community, is still moving forward with its large-scale attack on Rafah and once again pushing hundreds of thousands of Gazans into displacement. He expressed China’s deep concern and strong opposition to Israeli aggression.

Fu asserted the need for the United States to take immediate measures as the country that has a significant influence on the Israeli occupation entity, noting that the current humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza is unimaginable, as the occupation of the Rafah border crossing has seriously hindered the arrival of humanitarian aid.
