China has reiterated its call on the international community to lift the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people.
China’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dai Bing stressed during a Security Council session on April 26ththe need to immediately lift these measures in order to restore the right of the Syrian people to develop their economy and rebuild their homeland.
Bing called on the international community to implement Security Council Resolution 2585 by providing humanitarian aid and reconstruction without preconditions and helping the Syrian people obtain sustainable basic services.
Bing said that the United Nations should strengthen monitoring of cross-border aid deliveries to ensure their nature.
Bing also renewed his country’s call for the necessity of advancing the political process in Syria that is led and implemented by the Syrians themselves without outside interference.
Bing explained that making progress in resolving major national security issues such as foreign occupation and terrorism may help create the necessary conditions for the political process.
Bing indicated his country’s readiness to work with the United Nations, the guarantors of the Astana Process and relevant countries in the region to make greater efforts to resolve these issues.
