China rejects US measures against its companies

Beijing (ST): China pledged to take necessary measures to protect the legitimate rights and interests of its companies and institutions in the face of illegal US sanctions.

The United States recently added seven Chinese entities and institutions to its so-called “export control” list.

China’s Ministry of Commerce spokeswoman Xu Jueting said at a press conference yesterday, excerpts of which were published by Xinhua, that Beijing strongly opposes the latest US move, calling on the United States to put an end to its wrong practices immediately.

The United States has repeatedly popularized its “national security” concept, misused export control measures, and used state power to suppress and contain companies and enterprises from other countries, Xu said.
