China Reiterates Peaceful Solution to Crisis in Syria

BEIJING, (ST)_ A round of talks was held today        ( Tuesday) between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates  Dr. Faisal al-Miqdad and  his Chinese counterpart,    Zhai at the premises of the   Chinese Foreign Ministry’.

Dr. Miqdad acquainted  the  Chinese side of the political agenda to resolve the crisis in Syria and the executive steps carried out by the Syrian government in this regard.

The two sides  exchanged views and perceptions  about the crisis in Syria and means of solving it.

The Chinese side reiterated  commitment to find peaceful solutions to the crisis in Syria according to the UN Charter  principles , the  international law and Geneva statement and not to permit foreign  interference in Syria’s internal affairs.

Dr. Miqdad expressed thanks for China ‘s  positions  concerning the crisis in Syria.

Issues of common concern pertinent to  the development of bilateral relations in various fields were reviewed.

Syria’s ambassador to China Imad Mustafa and senior officials representing the two sides, attended the meeting.
