China provides Syria with medical equipment to treat sick children from incurable diseases

Syria and China have signed a protocol and a document for receiving medical and computer equipment given by China to the center of Bone Marrow Transplant and Stem Cell Transplantation that will open soon in the University Children Hospital in Damascus.

The protocol and the document were signed by the delegated Syrian Minister of Higher Education Bassam Ibrahim and China’s Ambassador in Damascus.

The Minister said that Syria highly appreciates China’s intiative and its support for the center, which will offer services to hundreds of sick children, who suffer from incurable diseases amid the unjust US and western sanctions that hinder bringing necessary medical equipment.

On his part, the Chinese Ambassador asserted that his country will go ahead with providing Syria with aid.

“The Chinese side considers Syria as a good friend and partner, and it is keen on working hand in hand with it with the aim of establishing the best relations and achieving  joint interests that meet the need of the two countries’ peoples,” the diplomat said.

He referred to the fact that China suppoted Syria in international meetings over the past years to protect its unity and sovereignty.

“China rejected foreign intervention in Syria’s internal affairs and offered humanitarian aid to Syria, mainly medical equipment, after the outbreak of Coronavirus,” the diplomat stressed.

The center is due to be ready in two months and  operations will be performed by the end of this year or the begining of 2021.
