China presents a variety of books as a gift to Al-Assad National Library in Damascus

Damascus, (ST) – Minister of Culture Dr. Lubana Mushaweh and the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Damascus Shi Hongwei inaugurated on Wednesday an exhibition of books presented as a gift from China to the Al-Assad National Library.

The exhibition included approximately 124 titles of various types of knowledge, including books on Chinese philosophy, history, civilization, culture, and arts, in addition to children’s books translated from the Chinese language.

In turn, Dr. Mushaweh presented the Chinese ambassador with a selection of books on the Syrian civilization, the homeland of the alphabet, and books that talk about the truth of the unjust war waged on Syria and about President Bashar Al-Assad’s path in leading the country in the most difficult circumstances.

Dr. Mushaweh thanked the Chinese embassy for this valuable gift. She stressed the importance of continuing cooperation in various cultural fields between the two friendly countries.

In turn, the Chinese ambassador spoke about the depth of relations between the two countries and the importance of cultural exchange between Syria and China.

He referred that there will be more support for Al-Assad National Library, which is one of the most important Arab national libraries.
