Beijing (ST): The Chinese Manned Space Agency announced today that the manned spacecraft (Shenzhou 16) will be launched tomorrow from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China.
The Chinese news agency Xinhua quoted Lin Shiqiang, deputy director of the agency, as saying during a press conference: The launch mission will use a “Long March 2F” carrier rocket, and the ship will carry three astronauts to carry out the mission, and the crew will remain in orbit for about five months.
Shenzhou-16 is the second spaceflight mission under China’s manned space program this year.
