China has imported around 60 million barrels of Russian oil last month to become the top importer of Russian energy in the world.
The flow of Russian energy resources towards China has increased after the countries of Western Europe boycotted the Russian supplies on the backdrop of the Russian military operation in Ukraine and after Russia had decided to stop energy exports to non friendly countries and the countries that didn’t pay for the imports in Russian rubles.
China has overtaken Germany as the biggest buyer of Russian energy exports in the world. Between February 24th and June 3rd, China imported the equivalent of $12.6 billion of Russian energy, while, Germany slips behind China with imports equivalent of $12.1 billion.
