China is ready to cooperate with Washington in various fields

Washington (ST): Chinese President Xi Jinping has announced his country’s readiness to work with the United States to properly manage their differences.

Xi said in a statement posted on the website of his country’s embassy in Washington that in accordance with the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation, China is ready to work with the United States to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in all fields and jointly address regional and international issues as well as global challenges.

 

Xi added that “we are also ready to properly manage differences to put China-US relations back on the track of sound and steady development”.

Relations between China and the United States are witnessing escalating tension after former US President Donald Trump triggered a trade war and imposed tariffs on Chinese imports and goods, while the administration of current President Joe Biden continues provocative policies against Beijing.
