China: Israel’s repeated aggressions against Syria are a serious violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity

China has once again criticized the repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, stressing that they constitute a serious violation of Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

Geng Shuang, China’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, was quoted by Xinhua as saying at a meeting of the United Nations Security Council on Syria: “Since the outbreak of the current events in Palestine, Israel, through the occupied Golan Heights, has launched repeated airstrikes against various locations in Syria, in grave violation of its sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

The Chinese representative called on the international community to make collective efforts to increase humanitarian assistance to Syria and provide adequate and non-earmarked financial support for early recovery projects throughout the country, pointing out that support from the countries of the region can give new impetus to the stabilization of the situation in Syria.
