China, Iran for Solving Syrian Crisis Peacefully

BERLIN, TEHRAN, (ST)_  China has emphasized that the international community should play an active and constructive role in resolving the crisis in Syria peacefully , while  Iran considered dialogue as the best way for such a solution.

China  Prime Minister Li Keqiang on Sunday in Berlin  stressed his country is open to any peaceful solution agreed upon by the  Syrian parties within the framework of the Geneva Conference 2.

AFP reported Li as saying following   a joint news conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin after their talks that: “The international community unanimously agreed to  play an active and constructive  role in resolving the crisis in Syria peacefully,” pointing out that the Chinese side is open to any political solution accepted by all Syrian parties to the Geneva international Conference 2, which currently under preparation.

China has confirmed during the crisis in Syria for more than two years, rejection of foreign interference and vetoed  twice along with Russia against two draft resolutions proposed by states and parties involved in the conspiracy against Syria, seeking  external interference,  similar to what happened in Libya.

For his part, Chairman of the Iranian Shura Council, Ali Larijani, renewed   his country’s assertion that dialogue is the best way to resolve the crisis in Syria.

In a statement on Sunday in response to  accusations recently made by the Turkish Foreign Minister to Iran and Hezbollah, quoted by the Iranian state news agency IRNA, Larijani said that these accusations are empty, adding that  miscalculations lead Turkey to be hostile to Syria and that ” today,  after more than two years Ankara  has to take responsibility , rather than holding others responsible for  its  mistakes.”
