China honors Syrian student for social and academic excellence

The Chinese Foreign Ministry has honored the Syrian doctorate student Zein Al-Abedeen Walid Ali by posting an article on its official website on Saturday about his academic and social excellence.

This is the first time the ministry posts an article about an excelled foreign student in China.

The article highlighted Zein Al-Abedeen’s excellence during the past 12 years, mainly in his university study, masters and doctorate study stages. It also focused on the awards and patents the student has obtained in many fields and on the distinguished volunteer activities he carried out with his family during the spread of the Coronavirus.

The article shed light on Zein Al-Abedeen positive effect on a big segment of Chinese society and on foreign students in China through his social media platforms which have attracted more than 90 million views in the country.

The article pointed out that Zein Al-Abedeen provides a true image about the influential and distinguished Syrian youths who love their country, hailing the role played by his father, a plastic artist, his mother, a journalist, and his brothers in building a cultural and academic bridge between the Chinese and Syrian societies through the cultural, artistic and academic activities they hold.

It is to be noted that the doctorate student Zein Al-Abedeen is continuing his studies in industrial design.
