China calls on the United States to respect Syria’s sovereignty

Beijing, (ST) – China renewed its call on the United States to respect Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and stop looting its national resources.

“We urge the United States to respect Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and respond to the demands of the Syrian people,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said in a press conference published by the ministry’s website on Wednesday.

Wang Wenbin stressed that Washington should immediately lift the unilateral sanctions on Syria, stop looting its national resources, hold the US forces accountable legally and compensate the Syrian people.

Wang Wenbin also indicated that Syria is another victim of the American regimes, according to which the Syrian people are deprived of their rights and lives. “Washington’s thieving actions have become more reckless, as the American occupation forces and their mercenaries steal Syrian oil and deprive the Syrian people of it, which proves that what the American forces did made the humanitarian disaster more destruction through its illicit trade in oil, gas and mineral resources”, he added.
