China calls for the resumption of peace talks to resolve the Ukrainian crisis

Beijing (ST): China called for international efforts to create conditions for the resumption of peace talks to solve the Ukraine crisis, exercise rationality and restraint and avoid fanning fires and exacerbating tensions.

Xinhua said that today China published  a paper explaining its position on the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, noting that dialogue and negotiation are the only available solution to this crisis.

China said in the paper that the international community should remain committed to the correct approach to promoting peace talks, help the parties open the door to a political settlement as soon as possible, and create conditions and build platforms for the resumption of negotiations, adding that China will continue to play a constructive role in this regard.

China called on all parties to exercise rationality and restraint, avoid fanning fires and exacerbating tensions, and prevent the crisis from deteriorating further or even spiraling out of control.
