China and Russia can work together to find fast and lasting solution to the crisis in Syria

MOSCOW, (ST)- China’s Special Envoy for Syria Xie Xiaoyan has stressed that China and Russia can cooperate to finding a lasting solution to the crisis in Syria quickly.

Xie Xiaoyan, who is currently visiting Russia, told reporters that “I am in Moscow again for the second time in a year to continue my contacts and consultations and coordination with the Russian side.”

“We can work together to play a role in finding a lasting political solution in Syria as soon as possible,” he said.

 Last August, the Chinese envoy called for exerting more efforts to continue the fight against terrorism in Syria and to achieve progress in the political process in order to reach settlement in the country.
