GOVERNORATES,(ST)- Vaccination campaigns to immune children from ten serious diseases especially measles and polio were completed in Hasaka, Hama and Homs provinces.
In Homs, number of vaccinated children reached 159.789.
In a statement to SANA, director of the health care department in Homs Dr. Abdul Momen Qashlaq said that vaccines were given to all children in temporary residence centers in the governorate, and that the vaccination campaign covered all children in the governorate.
In Hama, some 515320 children were vaccinated , according director of Hama health department Dr. Amer Sultan, who added that vaccines were also provided to children in areas most vulnerable to diseases
For his part, the head of Health Care Department, Dr. Ahmed Jihad Abora, asserts that the campaign achieved its objectives, thanks to the social awareness among citizens and good preparations by all sides concerned, including NGO ‘s and media .
In Hasaka 321,900 children under five years have benefited from the national vaccination campaign given in 80 health centers.
The vaccination campaign lasted from November 26 till Dec. 13.
