Children and women, main target of the Zionist atrocities

It has been clear that Israel maintains a policy of systematic killing of children and the elderly in the Palestinian territory. The Zionists are pursuing the killing of children and the elderly as a national policy with villainous viciousness. The heroic steadfastness of the Palestinian people and valiant deeds of the resistance men in the face of the brutal Israeli aggression pushed the Zionist leaders to perpetrate gruesome massacres and heinous atrocities against Palestinian children, women and the elderly. The Zionists have been known for their coward criminal acts against Palestinian children and women since the creation of the Zionist entity in the heart of the Arab homeland. The new horrible brutalities against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are new episodes in the Zionist criminal record.

The international organizations have been remaining tight-lipped on Israeli atrocities in the blockaded coastal Strip. Capitalizing on the sheer silence of the international community and the US unlimited support, the Zionist are perpetrating savage massacres against the defenseless Palestinian children and women daily. According to figures released by Gaza’s Health Ministry officials, among those killed were 398 children, 209 women and 74 elderly men.  The United Nations says at least one Palestinian child has been killed every hour during the ongoing Israeli war on the besieged Gaza Strip. According to a recent UN report, the ongoing Israeli air and ground attacks have claimed the life of at least one Palestinian child every hour. The report said that 74% of the victims are civilians, and one-third of the civilians killed so far are also children. International bodies and human rights groups say civilians account for the majority of the victims of the ongoing Israeli war.   Israeli military actions in the impoverished Gaza Strip are war crimes committed against civilians.

Israel has also attacked hospitals and schools in Gaza in the past days. Tel Aviv forces have also ordered Palestinians in Shifa hospital to evacuate the building.  According to figures provided by emergency services, the total number of people killed since the Israeli offensive on July 8 stands at nearly 1800. More than 9300 people have been injured in the attacks.

Thirty percent of the Gazans killed by Israeli offensive against the blockaded Strip are women and children.  Women and children make up a sizeable number of Palestinian fatalities caused by Israeli attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip. Nearly 80 percent of the victims have been civilians. UNRWA sources also say that at least 27,000 people from northern Gaza have sought refuge in UN shelters over the past few days. Reports say the residents of the besieged Gaza’s north flee their homes for fear of an imminent ground invasion.

The International silence also pushed Israel to experience new kinds of internationally-banned weapons.  The Zionists are using cancer-inducing bombs against Palestinian civilians. Dense Inert Metal Explosive, known as DIME, is an explosive device being used by the Zionists in their offensive against Gaza. Experts say it has a relatively small but effective blast radius and is believed to have strong biological effects on those who are hit by the bomb’s micro-shrapnel. Some Palestinian in the besieged enclave have been wounded by a new type of weapon that even doctors with previous experience in war zones do not recognize. Israel also used depleted-uranium and white phosphorus shells in the besieged region during their previous assaults.

The world’s top independent charity for children has warned that the Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip further traumatizes young people in the besieged Palestinian enclave. “Save the Children” said the mental health of Palestinian kids is being jeopardized by persistent Israeli airstrikes, emphasizing that the latest wave of air attacks has made it impossible for child psychologists to finish the delicate task of rebuilding the mental health of kids suffering from the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) from previous waves of conflicts.

The international nongovernmental organization further noted that children are likely to face sleeping disorders and other behavioral issues.

Children are likely to face a lot of disorders at sleeping times because military operations often take place during the night.
