Raising the level of childhood creativity and encouraging talents is an annual tradition that the Ministry of Culture is keen on every year. So, the Directorate of Child Culture honored the winners of literary and artistic competitions for children of martyrs and children with disabilities within the celebration of childhood and creativity.
In the celebration hosted by the Arab Cultural Center in Kafar Sousa, talented children were honored in the fields of drawing, calligraphy, photography, poetry, story and article, divided into age groups from seven to seventeen.
Malak Yassin, Director of the Child Culture Directorate said: “The aim of this celebration is to develop children’s artistic talents and skills,” indicating that this celebration comes within the Ministry’s plan to encourage artistic and literary works and focus on the participation of children with disabilities and support their talents.
According to Yassin, the celebration is the outcome of a year-long project with children, during which children with their creativity took part in literary and artistic workshops.
It was remarkable that the families and friends of the honored children interacted with the music and singing of the students of Sulhi Al Wadi Music Institute, led by Sumer Najjar, who presented a group of diverse youth talents.
Child Sidra Sheikhani, who won first place in the short story competition for people with disabilities, said that hope for life and the future is what prompted her to write her story “In Hope”, in which she won first place, thanking the Ministry of Culture for its encouragement and continuous support for talents.
The celebration was accompanied by an exhibition of the works of the winning children in the art competitions (drawing – photography – Arabic calligraphy) for the year 2021.
