Chief of the General Staff visit al-Shairat Airbase, inspects damage caused by US aggression

Homs – Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, Chief of the General Staff of the Army and Armed Forces Gen. Ali Abdullah Ayoub visited al-Shairat Airbase in the southeastern countryside of Homs province, SANA reported.

Ayoub, accompanied by officers from the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces, toured the positions that were targeted by the US aggression and was briefed by the commander and officers at the Airbase on the damage caused by the aggression and the preemptive measures that have been taken.

 

The Chief of the General Staff also met pilots and technicians who briefed him on the duties they carry out and the circumstances surrounding the US aggression that targeted the airbase, with Ayoub calling for maintaining high combat readiness to face all possibilities, commending the Airbase staff for their high morale, and asserting that the Syrian Arab Army will continue fighting until terrorism is eliminated.

For their part, the staff affirmed that the Airbase will remain ready to carry out its role in fighting terrorism and that such aggressions will not dissuade them from combating terrorism across the country.

Ayoub also visited the victims who were injured by the US aggression who are receiving treatment in Martyr Abdelqader Shaqfa Hospital in Homs, wishing them a swift recovery.
