Chief of Staff visits some army formations operating in the Syrian desert on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr

Damascus (ST) – On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, General Abdul Karim Mahmoud Ibrahim, Chief of the General Staff of the Army and Armed Forces, accompanied by a number of General Command officers, made a field visit to the combat formations operating in the Syrian desert, and conveyed to them President al-Assad’s congratulations on Eid.

General Ibrahim stressed the importance of maintaining high combat readiness and employing all capabilities to accomplish the national tasks of the armed forces, especially in light of the current challenges facing the country.

For their part, the soldiers affirmed that they will remain loyal to the homeland and will defend the land whatever sacrifices this may take.

General Ibrahim also visited a military airport and met with the pilots and technical crews, praising their courage and stressing the importance of the combat missions they carry out day and night, especially in the Syrian desert.

At the end of his tour, General Ibrahim visited those wounded in military operations in Homs Military Hospital, and checked on their health condition.
