Chief of General Staff conducts field tour of military formations in Hama and Lattakia

DAMASCUS – Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, Chief of the General Staff of the Army and Armed Forces Gen. Ali Abdullah Ayoub, accompanied by a number of General Command officers, conducted a tour on Saturday of a number of military formations operating in Hama and Lattakia countryside.

During his tour in Hama countryside, Ayoub was briefed by field commanders on combat missions, procedures, and measures taken to counter the terrorist organizations in the area, while in the northern countryside of Lattakia, he inspected army units operating on the direction of Ghamam area and was briefed by field commanders on the combat operations and the success achieved in the area, SANA reported.

 Ayoub also inspected army units in the direction of Kasab in the north western countryside of Lattakia and inspected the proceedings of the operations to control the strategic point of Zahi Mountain and the hills surrounding it.

At the end of his tour, Gen. Ayoub provided the soldiers with directives and wished them further success in carrying out their national duty.

Gen. Ayoub also visited Martyr Zahi Azraq Military Hospital in Lattakia and checked on the conditions of injured army personnel, praising their courage, sacrifices, and heroism in defending Syria, wishing them a quick recovery.
