Muscat – Chairman of the Arab Writers Union in Syria Mohammad Al-Hourani was among the intellectuals and writers honored in the Omani capital, Muscat, on the sidelines of a ceremony held to honor distinguished future writers in different literary fields.
The event, which included honoring distinguished winning students as well as teachers and authors who are keen on supporting literary creativity of young persons, aims at achieving the cultural and educational goals in accordance with the “Oman Vision 2040”
Oman’s Minister of Education Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shibaniyah and Chairman of the Omani Society for Writers and Literati, the poet Saeed Al-Saqlawi, presented certificates of appreciation to Chairman of the Arab Writers Union in Syria Mohamma Al-Hourani and to heads of Arab writers unions and societies who attended the ceremony in recognition of their efforts in supporting joint cultural work and enhancing cultural interaction among Arab intellectuals.
For his part, Al-Hourani presented the Omani society for Writers and Literati a collection of the Union’s publications on Children Literature and presented a shield to the poet Saeed Al-Saqlawi in appreciation of his efforts in caring for talented and creative children and in supporting joint cultural work.
