Chairman of Arab Writers Union honors Chinese Professor in recognition of his efforts in teaching Arabic 

The Chairman of the Arab Writers Union in Syria, Dr. Muhammad al-Hourani, presented the shield of the Union to the Chinese researcher and professor Saeed Ma Yan Jie, in appreciation of his efforts in teaching Arabic to the Chinese students and others at the Sun Yat-Sen University in the Chinese city of Zhuhai.

as part of his participation in the scientific symposium on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the birth of Gibran Khalil Gibran, Hourani stressed that the Arabic language is a human language that carries high values and high foundations for dealing with all peoples of the world.

For his part, the Chinese professor appreciated this initiative, stressing the importance of working to enhance cultural commonalities between China and Syria, in a way that contributes to strengthening cultural cooperation between writers in the two friendly countries.

The Arab Writers Union participated in the activities held at the Chinese “Sun Yat-San” University, which included a symposium entitled “Educating first-class gifted Arabic language talents in the light of building new humanities and social sciences” in the presence of dozens of researchers.

Extensive meetings and visits took place between the Syrian delegation, which included Dr. Muhammad al-Hourani, head of the Arab Writers Union in Syria, Dr. Shaher al-Shaher, member of the Arab Writers Union, and Dr. Abdullah al-Majidel, member of the Union, and a number of researchers and specialists in teaching Arabic language and culture in China and other countries.
