Cessation of hostilities breached 7 more times in Damascus and Lattakia

Lattakia – The number of breaches of the cessation of hostilities agreement rose to 1003 after 7 new breaches were observed in the past 24 hours, SANA reported.

According to the Hmeimim-based Russian center monitoring the agreement, which came into effect on February 27, the terrorists of the so-called “Jaish al- Islam” attacked with mortar shells the towns of Erbin, Harasta, Hawsh al-Shalaq, Jobar and Douma in Damascus Countryside, while the terrorists of the so- called “Free Army” and “Ahrar al-Sham” shelled the towns of Toubal and Tal Kaloushki in Lattakia.

The center said that the cessation of hostilities agreement is holding in most Syrian areas, adding that the towns which have joined the agreement are now 410, while the number of armed groups which announced commitment to the agreement remains 69.

It pointed out that Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists continue attempts to foil the cessation of hostilities agreement, as they targeted in the past 24 hours with rocket and mortar shells the neighborhoods of al-Lairamoun, al-Ramousa, al-Ansari and al-Castello Commercial Center in Aleppo as well as 6 towns in Damascus countryside and a town in Sweida.

The cessation of hostilities agreement is not applicable to ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra or other groups designated internationally as terrorist organizations.
