CENTCOM Commander Visits Northern Syria Secretly

WASHINGTON, (ST) -General Joseph Votel, Commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM) in the Middle East, made a secret visit to northern Syria where he met with US military experts located in the area and with leaders of Democratic Syria Forces, media outlets reported on Sunday.

According to the media outlets, the US General visited several places in Ein al-Arab city (Kobai) at the Syrian-Turkish borders.

Special Envoy of the US President Barack Obama for the international anti-ISIS coalition Bred MacCford confirmed Gen. Votel’s visit, explaining that it aimed at preparing for a wide attack on ISIS terrorists.
