CBS to Monitor $ 100 mln Slice to Finance Imports

DAMASCUS, (ST) – The Central Bank of Syria (CBS) to monitor cash slice of $ 100 million to finance imports.

The Governor of the CBS Dr. Adib Maiyala underlined, in a statement to local press, the bank’s intention to continue to intervene per day through funding applications of the importers submitted through the banking institutions to the central bank.

Dr. Maiyala fixed next Tuesday as the date for the intervention session to determine the reality of financing imports, exchange rate developments and ensure the sale of any new slices of the foreign exchange required by the market.
