CBS Governor Calls for Banks to Meet

DAMASCUS, (ST) – The Central Bank of Syria called for banks working in the Syrian Arab Republic to attend a meeting to discuss some economic decisions and actions next Monday.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Syria (CBS), Dr. Adib Maiyyaleh said in a statement that the aim of the meeting is to discuss a package of important decisions and actions related to the development of the national economy and encourage investment and employment in order to accelerate the wheel of economic rotation and promote the recovery that began witnessing some sectors of the national economy.

He underlined the continued efforts by the bank to stabilize the monetary and banking sector and maintain the strength of the Syrian pound, despite the fierce campaign launched by some anti-Syrian people.
