Catholicos Kechichian calls on Armenians around the world to contribute to Syria’s support for its recovery

Deir Ezzor, (ST) – Catholicos Aram I Kechichian, pastor of the Armenian Church in the Great House of Cilicia, and his accompanying delegation were briefed on the damage and sabotage inflicted on the Armenian Martyrs Church in Deir Ezzor as a result of the terrorists and their acts.

During his prayer in the church, Catholicos Kechichian prayed to God to save Syrian people and army. He prayed for victory to Syria and its people. He prayed to God to have mercy on the Armenian martyrs who were killed at the hands of the Ottoman criminal in a genocide that was described as one of the most heinous crimes against unarmed Armenian people.

Deir Ezzor Governor Fadel Najjar referred in his speech to the spirit of love and friendship that unites the Syrian and Armenian peoples. He referred to the crimes of the Ottomans against the Armenian people and the crimes of the Turkish regime against the Syrian people.

In a statement to reporters, Catholicos Kechichian said that, we came to Deir Ezzor to renew our faith and our determination to rebuild this church, which was destroyed under the order of of the neo-Ottoman Turks

He added that, we came to to contribute to the reconstruction of Syria, which was sabotaged by terrorists. “We affirmed our readiness to contribute to the reconstruction of what was destroyed by terrorism”, Catholicos Kechichian said.

He added that, my last visit to Syria was three years ago, and today I touched the great development in the reality of life in Syria, with which we have strong relations.

Catholicos Kechichian called on Armenians all over the world to help and support Syria’s recovery.
