Casi Rose shown in Cinema in Damascus

Damascus (ST): The first public screening of the movie “Casi Rose” starts at City Cinema Damascus this evening, in the presence of the makers of the work, a number of participating artists, and the audience.

The film directed by the artist Wael Ramadan, with a script and dialogue by Solaf Fawakherji, sheds light on the Syrian reality with a mixture of drama, action and comedy.

In a statement, Ramadan explained that the work brings together culturally and intellectually diverse personalities from different social groups, pointing out that he sought, through his directing experience, to develop the cinematic situation and restore public passion and love for going to cinemas after it lost a large part of its luster, pointing out that the film continues to be shown in Damascus and Aleppo and that the most important feature in it is that it touches the citizens and reflects reality in a real way, away from artificiality and beautification.

Actress Wafaa Moussalli stated that it is a new cinematic experience of its kind because it is a private sector and is not linked to commercial cinema, but rather constitutes a state of psychological immunity that builds a barrier against pain by expressing it in a real way through symbolic paradoxes of laughter, tear, joke and a fleeting idea that represents the Syrian obsession that haunts the Syrian citizen  in all moments of his life and focuses on all his interests and desires within the crucible of urgent service needs for all layers of Syrian society.

Moussalli spoke about the character that she embodied in the film as a simple woman who felt the suffering as much as every Syrian citizen, noting that this work is a bridge to reach a sophisticated and advanced Syrian cinematic level that matches  the development of Syrian drama.
