Car prices drop to a quarter of their previous value

Abdul Latif Shartah, Director of the Vehicle Import Department at the Ministry of Transport, explained that the ministry began granting driving licenses to vehicles imported from the United Arab Emirates at the beginning of this week.

Shartah noted that the procedures include mechanical inspection of vehicles by specialized committees to ensure that they comply with the specifications and customs data of the vehicle before granting them temporary licenses.

Shartouh pointed out that the ministry aims through these procedures to facilitate the process of importing cars in a legal and organized manner, ensuring the speed of completing procedures and reducing the burden on citizens.

Car importer Fadel Mohammed Issa spoke about the positive impact of these facilities, especially since the import of cars was almost halted due to the complications and high costs imposed by the former regime, explaining that the new procedures include granting a trial period of three months, after which the car is delivered and becomes ready, which leads to a decrease in car prices to a quarter of their previous value.
