Canadian journalist: Western media have used the same lies about events in Syria and Ukraine

Canadian journalist Eva Bartlett has affirmed that the crimes of terrorist organizations in Syria and the cover-up of these crimes by the Western media have been repeated again since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, noting that the hands of the West and its media machine are stained with the blood of innocent civilians in the two countries.

 

In an interview with the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), Bartlett Bartlett, who worked as a war correspondent in Syria and is today in Donbass to cover the special military operation, referred to the similarity between the political and media disinformation practices of the United States and its allies during the crisis in Syria and what is currently happening in Ukraine.

 

She stressed that Western media is involved in the crimes committed against civilians in Ukraine as it was in Syria through its lies and the cover-up of facts.

 

Bartlett indicated that the Western media’s coverage of what is happening in Ukraine, describing the Russian operation as an invasion, and promoting this idea was expected because the media in the West and the US have whitewashed the page of terrorist organizations in Syria since their appearance in 2011 and covered the atrocities they committed over the past years.

 

“The scenes that show Ukrainian civilians welcoming the Russian forces are similar to what the world saw in Syria when the Syrian Arab Army entered to liberate the areas where terrorists were spread,” she added.

 

Bartlett made it clear that most Western media deny the existence of Nazism in Ukraine and lie about what is happening. “BBC and other media promoters in the West have reached the point of manipulating video clips and removing images that show  Nazi slogans.”

 

She pointed out that the Western media has ignored for 8 years what is happening in Donbass and did not mention what Ukraine is doing as regards bombing and killing civilians there or Kiev’s violation of the Minsk agreements and the use of internationally prohibited weapons during the bombing.

 

Bartlett indicated that the United Nations has constantly tried to hide the truth about what happened in Syria and continues its attempts today regarding the events in Ukraine, routinely ignoring the crimes of terrorist organizations in the both countries.

 

Concerning the active role of the “White Helmets” in hostilities in Ukraine and its return to the same practices that it has doing in Syria, such as preparing for provocations and filming fake videos with the aim of accusing Russia, Bartlett said: “The “White Helmets” organization has nothing to do with rescue operations, as it receives huge funding from Western powers. It possesses advanced media and modern filming and production techniques that enable him it to deceive Western audiences.”

 

She went on to say: “Unfortunately, many in the West are very naive and believe the lies and propaganda of the White Helmets no matter how naive their lies and videos are, and if this organization repeats the so-called rescue scenes in Ukraine, the Western public will unfortunately fall into the trap of these lies again.

 

She concluded by saying:” In spite of the Western-led propaganda about the Russian special military operation and allegations about the failure of this operation to achieve its military goals of disarmament and uprooting Nazism in Ukraine, Russia succeeded in eliminating Nazi and military objectives without attacking or targeting civilian infrastructure.”
