Canada Appoints Non-Resident Ambassador to Syria

The Canadian Foreign Ministry has stated that Canada’s Ambassador to Lebanon was appointed as Non-Resident Ambassador to Syria.

In a statement, the Canadian Foreign Ministry said that Canada has allocated $ 84 million in new funding for humanitarian aid in response to the crisis in Syria.

“We will also ease sanctions to allow funds to be sent through certain Syrian banks, including the Central Bank of Syria,” the ministry added.
