Cairo Arab Lawyers Conference in Cairo Turns into Solidarity Festival with Syria: Slogans supporting Syrian Army, President Assad
CAIRO, (ST) _In its 23rd session yesterday, the opening ceremony of the Arab Lawyers General Conference turned into a rally of solidarity and support for Syria. Large number of heads of Arab bar associations and senior Arab lawyers are taking part in the festival.
Hundreds of Arab lawyers chanted with the Syrian lawyers delegation the Syrian anthem and voiced Arab support for the Syrian Army and President Bashar al-Assad, including “ Long live Syria and Egypt”, “Long live Presidents President Assad al-Sisi “ and phrases denouncing Turkey and Qatar, as terrorism supporters. They also raised the Syrian flag on the main platform.
“I fought in Syria in October liberation War in 1973 and I wish to be a martyr on the Syrian soil,” said Abdul Latif Boueshrine, Secretary General of the Arab Lawyers Union.
In a speech he delivered, Boueshrine also criticized the bloodshed taking place in various areas in the Arab world, in a way hurts every Arab everywhere, stressing the need to support the bonds of unity and solidarity among the Arabs in the face of impeding challenges and to achieve economic and political independence.
He called on the need for a unified Arab position on the current crisis in Syria, Iraq, Sudan, Yemen, Libya, so as to eliminate their obstacles while maintaining the unity and territorial integrity and peoples of those countries.
In their three-day conference, the Arab Lawyers will discuss several Arab, regional and international issues as well as topics pertinent to freedoms and democracy, human rights and ways of enhancing and upgrading law as a legal profession and training its young cadres.
For his part, head of the Arab Lawyers Union, Sameh Ashour, denounced in the opening speech the Arab silence about the partition of Iraq, Libya, Sudan and other Arab countries, calling for maintaining the unity of the Syrian territory and do not let the fall of the Syrian state in favor of the Israeli occupation and the Syrian seat to be back to the Arab League.
Ashour said that terrorism taking place in the Arab world is a central and an integrated part of the dependency and partition scheme which targets the Arab nation by the hands of terrorist elements.
He regretted that those who are carrying out foreign schemes against the Arab world, are the same who are raising the banner of Islam, denouncing what is done by “international Zionism” to Judaize Israel, describing that as extremism and terrorism to undermine the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their own state on their own land.
The Moroccan “Boueshrine”, won the position of Secretary General of the Arab Lawyers Union in the elections that took place earlier in the day in Cairo, against his rival lawyer Dokhi Alhasbban of Kuwait with 30 votes to 16 votes.
