Cabinet weighs up launching political program

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ The Syrian cabinet has convened an extraordinary meeting to tackle mechanism of implementing a political program to end the crisis in Syria according to President Bashar al-Assad’s recent speech.

According to SANA, the cabinet’s Tuesday-meeting dealt with proposals to manage and launch a national dialogue conference to be preceded by holding open dialogue sessions.  .

All Syria’s components, political parties, popular unions and organizations, social and economic activists, NGOs, and clergymen are due to participate in the sessions.

The comprehensive national dialogue conference to be held in accordance with national sovereignty principles and rebuffing foreign meddling in Syria’s internal affairs would lead to national charter to be approved by referendum.

The cabinet agreed on endorsing the executive mechanism for launching the national conference on Wednesday’s meeting.

On the other hand, the government hailed the Syrian Arab Army’s steadfastness in confronting terrorism. It also highly appreciated national initiatives that help ease affected citizens’ suffering and enhance peaceful solution.
