Cabinet takes measures to complete the bill amending financial law of administrative units

Damascus – The Cabinet has taken the measures needed to complete the issuing of a bill on amending the financial law of administrative units, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi said at the Cabinet’s session on Tuesday, SANA reported.

The law aims at uniting all financial rules related to the units’ revenues and supporting the units with new resources to improve their financial situation and empower them to provide better services.

In his comments on the economic situation, al-Halaqi highlighted the challenges facing the Syrian pound (SYP), stressing that the Monetary and Credit Council and the Central Bank of Syria (CBS) are making efforts to try to stabilize the exchange rate.

The government will continue financing raw materials and energy needs, the Premier affirmed.

He referred to al-Razi urban project in Damascus which President Bashar al-Assad laid the foundation stone of few days ago, saying the project forms the start of the reconstruction process in Syria.

Afterwards, the Cabinet approved a letter submitted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform on the estimated budget and the technical and financial work plan of the Fund for Reducing the Effects of Drought and Natural Disasters for 2016.
