Cabinet: October Liberation War demonstrated the heroism of Syrian people and army

DAMASCUS, Oct.6, (ST)-The cabinet has asserted that the October war of Liberation showed the courage and heroism of the Syrian people and their heroic army, through the sacrifices that were made for defending the land and honor and restoring the usurped lands and rights.

It said in a statement, released on Thursday on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the October War of Liberation, that this war clearly demonstrated the patriotism and determination of people in defending the homeland its sovereignty, its unity and its independent decision.

The cabinet underlined that this war, which Syria fought in defense of the right in the face of the brutal aggression, drew the features of a new phase of adherence and defending rights as well as restoring the stolen rights. It stressed that the occupation will ends no matter how long it takes.

It made it clear that for more than 12 years, Syria has faced different forms of aggression, terrorism and a siege, in which the forces of evil and aggression have joined forces using the criminals of the age, and the heart-eaters in desperate attempts to undermine Syria and its positions in defense of peoples’ rights and international law.

The statement concluded by saying: “At a time we are facing unprecedented aggression, terrorism and a siege, we are more determined to move forward behind the wise and courageous leadership of President Bashar Al-Assad to achieve the final victory over terrorism, and to rebuild and liberate every inch of the homeland that has been destroyed by terrorism as well as to increase production with the efforts of all loyal and honorable people,”
