Cabinet discusses economic and services issues

DAMASCUS – The Cabinet discussed in its weekly session on Tuesday a number of services and economic issues, including relief work in Deir Ezzor city, Kefraya and al-Foua’a, in addition to marking the anniversary of October Liberation War.

Chairing the session, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi stressed the need to not export any item unless the local markets have sufficient quantities of it, in addition to instructing the ministries of Tourism and Internal Trade & Consumer Protection to monitor prices and bills in restaurants and tighten supervision over them, SANA reported.

He also called upon the concerned authorities to inspect and address the licenses granted to facilities in the Syrian coastal.

While reviewing recent political developments, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem pointed out that the participation of the Syrian delegation at the meetings of the 70th UN General Assembly and UN Security Council in New York was widely welcomed on the regional and international levels.

Al-Moallem added that there is an international understanding of the nature of the terrorist war which Syria is facing and the necessity to support Syria in fighting terrorism, as terrorism is a threat to the entire world.

The minister lauded the true and honest will of Russia in fighting terrorism which achieved during days what U.S. and its allies failed to achieve in a year.

The cabinet also took the necessary measures to complete the issuance of a number of bills and approved memos, including a bill on exempting real-estate property owners whose properties were damaged terrorist acts from construction permit fees for any repairs the properties might require.
