Cabinet discuses procedures for ratifying credit line agreement with Iran

Damascus – The Cabinet discussed on Tuesday a number of economic and services issues, including procedures for ratifying the implementation of the credit line agreement between Syria and Iran.

The agreement was signed between the Commercial Bank of Syria and the Export Development Bank of Iran in Damascus on May 19th to finance imports and projects.

Chairing the weekly session, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi reaffirmed that the government is giving special attention to the marketing, procurement, and storage of wheat crops and providing farmers with agricultural requirements, in addition to adopting procedures for combating smuggling.

Al-Halaqi pointed out that despite the military escalation that Syria has witnessed during the past few weeks, the Syrian Arab Army has achieved consecutive victories over the terrorist organizations which are receiving huge financial, logistic, and media support from Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the US, and Israel, adding that those countries were trying to undermine the morale of Syrian people and the Army.

The Cabinet discussed a draft law on authorizing the Finance Minister to grant advance funding from the treasury to pay for some emergency overheads on the basis of decisions from the Cabinet.

The Cabinet also approved the necessary procedures to issue a draft law on city planning and construction, a law which will implement zoning and organizational plans for cities and towns.
