Cabinet Denounces Terrorist Attack On National Media

DAMASCUS, (ST) –”it is a coward attack perpetrated  by the armed terrorists against the local  media,” the cabinet underscored on Tuesday referring  to the  martyrdom of journalist Yara Abbas near al-Dabaa Airport in al-Quseir countryside.

The cabinet’s  remark came during its weekly meeting.

The cabinet made it clear that the national media has a vital role as regards unveiling the disinformation of some Arab, regional and world media. The national media is committed to patriotism, credibility, humanity and conveying the reality of the ongoing events in Syria .

During the meeting, Prime Minister, Dr. Wael al-Halqi briefed his colleagues on the  cabinet’s activities in the past week, underlying that the government’s  priority currently  is developing the financial sources, rationalizing  the public expenditure and  combating corruption .

For his part, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Walid al-Moallem, briefed the cabinet on the latest developments on the Arab and international arenas.

Al-Moallem described his visit to Iraq as successful and also briefed the  cabinet on the visit paid by Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad to Russia.

Minister of Presidential Affairs, Mansour Azzam, reviewed the outcome of his visit to Tehran along with the accompanying delegation .

Minister of Health, Saad al-Nayef, who attended the 66th session of the World Health Assembly which was held in in Geneva, said that his speech at the said meeting focused on  the deteriorating health conditions of the Syrian people in the occupied Syrian Golan.
