DAMASCUS,(ST)_ In its weekly meeting held on Tuesday chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Wael al-Halaqi, the Syrian cabinet condemned the brutal massacres committed by the Zionist racist occupation against the steadfast Palestinian people, stressing confidence that the Palestinian people, thanks to their steadfastness, sacrifices, and strong resistance will deter the aggression and achieve victory.
Dr. Halaqi stressed that countries supporting international terrorism, especially in Syria and the Arab region are the same, which provide all forms of material and military support to the Zionist racist entity and encourage it to carry out murder and crime acts and collective massacres against Palestinian people and that these massacres are in harmony with what the armed terrorist groups do in Syria, calling on the international community and organizations to stop the barbaric war against the Palestinians women and children.
He indicated that risks imposed on Syria by organized terrorism and comprehensive global war aims to eliminate the axis of resistance and opposition that stands against the American-Zionist schemes in the region, transmit the chaos and destruction, stop the wheel of development and progress for the benefit of the Zionist entity and to control the Arab nation as a whole.
The Premier gave a comprehensive economic review of procedures taken by the government to strengthen the capacity of the Syrian pound and the national economy.
He asked the ministries of transport, oil, electricity, health and housing to draw projects required by the reconstruction phase, and to draft legal, financial and economic feasibility studies to the Planning and International Cooperation Commission within a week in order to be debated for investment at home and for friendly countries
He called on concerned authorities to make further efforts to buy wheat for the years 2013-2014 and coordination among all ministries concerned to receive and transport wheat of the eastern region to the Central and Southern regions.
The Cabinet ministers discussed several economic, service and administrative issues that help to improve the performance of the economic, service and administrative sectors.
Moreover, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Moallem talked about latest political developments in the international arena, while the Minister of State for National Reconciliation, Dr. Ali Haider highlighted latest developments concerning national reconciliation, pointing that acceleration of national reconciliations in all governorates, helped reinforcing the positive atmosphere to promote the spirit of amity, tolerance among the Syrian people.
