Cabinet Condemns Occupation Government’s Holding of Provocative Meeting in Occupied Syrian Golan

DAMASCUS– The Cabinet condemned in its weekly session on Tuesday the holding of a provocative and illegal meeting in the occupied Syrian Golan by the Israeli occupation government.

Chairing the session, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi affirmed that the occupied Golan is and  will continue to be a Syrian territory, and the Syrians will not compromise a grain of Golan soil, SANA reported.

 Regarding services issues, al-Halaqi said that the construction process kicked off in all sectors despite the terrorist war and the unjust economic blockade, adding that under the directions of President Bashar Al-Assad and marking the 70th anniversary of Evacuation Day (Syrian Independence Day), a number of vital and development projects will be opened and the foundation stones of others will be laid down to help repair the economic indicators, launch the wheel of production, offer thousands of jobs opportunities, and achieve the hoped-for social and economic stability.

In a presentation on the latest political developments, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem said that the political process which aims at finding a political solution to the crisis in Syria is based on non-interference in the internal affairs of Syria and on the fact that the Syrians alone will decide the features of the political solution, especially as they have proven their ability to fight terrorism and made great sacrifices in order to preserve the state and its national institutions.

Al-Moallem expressed his confidence in the ability of the Syrian Arab Army to combat terrorism and restore security and stability to the homeland.

For his part, Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs, Local Administration Minister Omar Ghalawanji briefed the Cabinet on the measures taken by Damascus Countryside Governorate to rehabilitate the infrastructure and services in Adra al-Ummalia suburb, mainly after the return of 15,000 citizens to their houses their.

In turn, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Sleiman al-Abbas reviewed the state of the petroleum sector, the challenges facing it, and the future programs and plans to rehabilitate some oil wells.
