Cabinet condemns ISIL crimes in Ayn al-Arab

DAMASCUS,(ST)_The cabinet has condemned the heinous massacres  being perpetrated by the terror organization Daesh [ known as the IS or ISIL] against people of the northern Syrian city of Ayn al-Arab.

During today’s session, Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi underscored that the government provides humanitarian aid to all Syrian areas, particularly Ayn al-Arab [ known as Kobane in Kurdish], to enhance steadfastness of the Syrian people in confronting besiege that has been imposed by terrorist organization on them.

“The Syrian Arab army will pursue terrorists everyplace in Syria to restore stability and security to homeland,” the premier said.

The Syria-Turkey border city of Ayn al-Arab is now besieged by the Daesh terrorists on three sides.

On September 16, the terror organization Daesh launched an attack on Ayn al-Arab. As many as 100.000 people fled the city.     

Ayn al-Arab city and surrounding towns were reportedly home to about 400.000 people, most of them Kurds.
