Cabinet calls for securing needs of Deir Ezzor, approves agricultural production plan for 2017/2018

Damascus – During its weekly session chaired by Prime Minister Imad Khamis, the Cabinet called on all the ministries to provide the needs and necessary supplies for the people of Deir Ezzor in terms of food, medicines, school supplies, and relief aid, in addition to securing the basic services required for the return of Deir Ezzor’s residents.

The Cabinet also charged the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade with the establishment of permanent centers for Syrian products in the main cities of friendly countries that will serve as “Syrian commercial malls.”

The Cabinet approved the production plan for the agricultural season 2017/2018, which includes the expansion of family farming in rural areas, increasing irrigated areas by 8326 hectares, increasing the areas allocated for wheat cultivation by 13790 hectares, and increasing the area for the cultivation of tobacco by 4353 hectares, SANA reported.
