Cabinet calls for accelerating implementation of plans to replant the areas exposed to fires

In its weekly session under the chairmanship of Premier Eng. Hussein Arnous, the Cabinet saluted the staff  of the ministries, public bodies, unions, community and popular activities, firefighters and civil defense who, with the support of the Syrian Arab Army, contributed to extinguishing the fires in the countryside of Latakia, Tartous and Homs. It praised the exceptional efforts made that reflect the spirit of cooperation and dedication of the Syrian people in the face of crises.

The Cabinet asked the ministries to speed up the development and implementation of plans to replant the areas that were exposed to fires and restore economic life to them as soon as possible. It also requested laying down mechanisms to provide support as soon as the statements of the committees that began assessing the damages are presented.

 

Eng. Arnous affirmed that the state will provide various types of support to the affected people to compensate for the losses they have suffered as a result of the fires in a way that will contribute to the refarming of agricultural lands and the launch of local development projects. The Premier underlined the importance of activating partnerships with the private sector, organizations and unions, strengthening efforts to combat smuggling and manipulating oil derivatives and taking proactive measures to confront any emergency and dealing with the media responsibly and transparently.

The Minister of Communications and Technology reviewed the steps taken after the launch of the services of the Syrian Company for Electronic Payments in the field of work of a number of ministries.  It emphasized applying e-payment in various transactions that need to be reviewed by citizens during a maximum period of the fourth month of next year.

The Cabinet discussed the draft law governing the establishment of the Syrian Chambers of Industry and the Federation of Chambers of Industry with the aim of enhancing their contribution to economic development. It requested the Ministry of Education to improve the educational reality in the southern countryside of Aleppo and to provide the requirements for the educational process. It assigned the Ministry of Finance to present proposals to develop the insurance sector. It also agreed to supply five millions vaccines to immunize livestock.

In his turn, Minister of Industry Ziyad Sabbagh pointed out that the Council discussed amending the decree regulating the work of the Federation of Chambers of Industry with the aim of involving the private sector in the development process and developing the economic sector, both public and private, and realizing a shift in the Federation of Chambers of Industry law in order to establish new industrial chambers that include all governorates to contribute to the development of the industrial sector in an integrated and balanced way.
