Bulgarian MP describes Syria as ‘last barrier defending civilizations’

The Bulgarian Member of Parliament Magdalena Tasheva has said that the European states owe the Syrian people for defending the European civilization through fighting terrorism.

She clarified that Syria is the last barrier defending the civilizations.

“If this barrier collapsed, Europe would be full of terrorist organizations such as the ISIS, the al-Nusra Front [Jabhat al-Nusra], the Jaish al-Fateh [army of conquest] and the Jaish al-Islam [Islam army], which perpetrate savage crimes against the Syrian and Iraqi peoples,” the MP affirmed.

She added that President Bashar al-Assad is the leader of all honest Arabs, who are defending the Arab people’s independence and sovereignty.

The MP, who is also a member of the Bulgarian Ataka party, declared in an interview published by the Tishreen newspaper on Friday that President al-Assad will triumph in the war waged  against Syria by the hawks of the U.S. Democratic Party, Britain, France, Israel and the Unites States’ agents in Ankara, Doha and Riyadh.

“For the sixth year, Syria has resisted the foreign brutal aggression on it… The extraordinary characteristics of the Syrian people and the heroism of the Syrian Arab army and the Syrian leadership are behind the success of Syria in resisting the aggression,” Mrs. Tasheva said.

Israel fuels terror war on Syria

Mrs. Tasheva indicated that the role of Israel in fueling the terror war on Syria is similar to that of Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. ” Israel, which occupies the Syrian Golan and support terrorists in Syria, has set up military hospitals near the Syrian border in order to treat the wounded terrorists, who are the tools being used by Israel against axis of resistance – Syria, Iran and Hezbollah,” she clarified.

The MP, in addition, referred to the fact that the U.S. urged its allies to cut diplomatic relations with Syria when the crisis erupted in the country.

“In November 2012, the U.S, France, Britain Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia recognized the so-called the ‘opposition coalition’, which was formed in Doha. But Bulgaria has not recognized it… Regrettably, the diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Syria were cut for a short time by the Bulgarian Foreign Minister then Nikolai Mladinov, who invited representatives of armed groups in Syria to visit Bulgaria in 2012.  The meeting of the representatives of armed groups was held in the presence of Israel’s official envoy Mandi al-Safadi,” Mrs.  Tasheva said.

She asserted that the Ataka party had rejected Mladinov’s policy which stands by the U.S. and Israel.

Bulgarian-Syrian Friendship Group

“After the beginning of the crisis in Syria, the Ataka party visited the Syrian embassy in Sofia where  the party’s leader VolenSiderov told reporters that  the Syrian state and its legitimate government face terror attacks, which are backed by intelligence bodies, mainly Turkish ones.”

The MP also referred to the Bulgarian-Syrian Friendship Group, which was formed after 2011 by several Bulgarian MPsrepresenting the Ataka party, Socialist party, parties of governmental alliance and the national front.

“This Friendship group has worked on strengthening bilateral relations in all fields,”  Mrs.  Tashevaconfirmed, indicating that the Ataka party faces pressures to limit its support for Syria.

“The Alfa Television channel and the Ataka newspaper have succeeded in changing the public opinion in Bulgaria towards what it is going on in Syria. They published reports about the crimes perpetrated by the so-called the ‘armed opposition’ against people and the Christian clergymen and the historical sites in Aleppo, Homs, Der Ezzour and Palmyra cities,” Mrs. Tasheva concluded.

Since 2011, a foreign-backed terror war has been waged on Syria targeting its people, army, civilization and infrastructures in accordance with the US-Zionist plot that aims to fragment the region and to have hegemony over its wealth.

About 360.000 foreign terrorists from 93 countries came to fight against the Syrians from April 2011 till January 2016, according to the German Firil Center for Studies. While media reports have confirmed that Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, the U.S., France, Britain and Israel support – by all means-terrorist organizations operating in Syria.
