British newspaper: Europe is not ready to give up Russian gas

London (ST) – British newspaper, the Financial Times, revealed that European countries increased their imports of Russian liquefied natural gas by 42 percent during the past ten months, compared to the same period in 2021.

The volume of liquefied natural gas delivered from Russia to European countries in the first ten months of this year amounted to 17.8 billion cubic meters, representing 16 percent of the total seaborne gas imports in European countries during the aforementioned period, while the main buyers were Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands, and France.

The newspaper pointed out that Europe has received 62.1 billion cubic meters of Russian gas through gas pipelines since the beginning of this year, considering that this data confirms, “Europe is not ready to completely abandon Russian gas despite all political attempts to do so.”
