Brazilian Delegation: Destruction of Churches, Monasteries in Syria by Terrorists Aimed at Obliterating Country’s Rich History

DAMASCUS, (ST)-The terrorist attacks which destroyed Syrian churches and monasteries in different Syrian cities and towns aimed at obliterating Syria’s civilization and rich history,  head of the Brazilian parliamentary delegation visiting the country MP Arlindo Chinaglia said during the delegation’s visit to the Syrian towns of Maaloula and Seddnaya.

 Chinaglia pointed out that the delegation’s visit to Syria aimed at strengthening parliamentary ties between  Syria and Brazil in the interest of the peoples of the two countries, stressing that boosting the Syria-Brazilian diplomatic relations reflects positively on cooperation at the official and popular levels, particularly in the coming era which is witnessing Syria’s recovery and reconstruction.

He affirmed that he and the parliamentary delegation will express to the Brazilian public opinion the state of stability and recovery they felt in Syria.

On his part, Achilles Zaluar, Charge d’ Affaires of the Brazilian Embassy in Damascus, hailed the deeply-rooted relation between Syria and Brazil, a kind of relation that has been manifested in Brazil’s support for Syria’s fight against takfiri terrorist organizations.

According to the Brazilian MP Eduardo Felicio Elias, members of the delegation will convey a true image about the ongoing events in Syria to the Brazilians.
