Bortnikov: Syria has undermined ISIS combat capabilities

MOSCOW, PETERSBURG, (ST)_ Director of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), Alexander Bortnikov, has underscored that Syria has succeeded in striking the terrorist organization of ISIS [ Its Arabic acronym is DAESH]and undermining its combat capabilities as well as destroying its organizational structure.
 
Bortnikov said at the International Parliamentary Assembly of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States on Thursday in Petersburg, that the successive defeats suffered by ISIS and Al-Qaeda terrorists and the retreat of their positions in the Middle East region led to the fact that the focus of ringleaders of these organizations began to gradually turned  towards countries of Southeast and Central Asia.
